The report indicates 46.9 GB remaining on your SSD, but WinDirStat shows only 28 GB. The discrepancy suggests an issue with the data or statistics being displayed. With Windows 8.1 Pro, it's possible the file system or permissions are affecting the results.

It seems WinDirStat doesn't scan your Windows folders, which could require around 20GB of space. That’s a risky move—something might go wrong and you’ll need to reinstall without backups.

Recovery from a DVD can be achieved through a restore point (set up by System Restore) or by reinstalling Windows, which will erase your files. System Restore does not.

Consider performing a system restore on another hard drive, as the issue occurred with your SSD.

If you're not using Hibernate, run a command prompt with admin privileges and type powercfg /H off. This will turn off hibernation and remove the hibernation file, freeing up roughly 10GB. You might also relocate your page file from the SSD to another HDD.

I've been doing this for about three years without any issues.
