This only occurs when I play MW2, though I see it in other programs too. My ISP checked and found nothing suspicious, so there must be something I can fix myself. I’m unsure if it’s a constant DDoS attack or just my ISP’s issue. My ping stays low, and everything around me seems to freeze while I move normally. This usually happens for 5–15 seconds, then I’m back but immediately lose connection. Steam disconnects completely, and sometimes I can’t get online at all—about half the time. Discord is always running, though it sometimes drops too.

I notice packet loss occasionally, but nothing that causes a full outage. Looking at my router logs, I see many connection attempts worldwide. I turned off all ports except one I was using for Plex (which uses up to 50% of my bandwidth, around 40Mbps). The rest were generic Steam server ports I left open because I sometimes host private servers. After that, the logs stayed clean.

However, a specific DoS attack from 95.217.30.172 on port 443 happened on November 5, 2022. That might be relevant. I tried blocking IPs but didn’t succeed. They suggested OpenVPN, but I don’t run a Linux server. My Plex is just Windows 10, which is easier. I’m thinking about switching to a Linux or Windows server, but my HDD setup makes it risky to lose data. With 32TB of storage already half full, I really need a solution.

What can I do now? Beyond changing my ISP IP, I’m not sure what else helps.
