I’m testing various platforms and DDR3 ICS to gather information for fun. There are many ICS that existing DDR3 threads miss—maybe there’s another G-Die out there yet. Check out some Reddit threads about DDR3 ICs, and here are a few links to current DDR3 sources. For now, most projects seem to focus on x58-based boards, since my 970 Extreme3 struggles with OC at the time of writing, and FM2 falls short, especially on lower-end boards (max 2600).

I gathered a few 2GB sticks for testing today. I have two Samsung 2GB DRAM dies, one Samsung 2GB DRAM die, one Hynix 2GB DRAM die, and one Nanya 1GB DRAM die. The Nanya stick is too slow because it struggles to keep up with speeds over 1600, so I plan to run more detailed tests later. Right now I’m just checking out the Samsung DRAM timings—especially the auto subtimings at 2V—and hoping they perform better than Hynix CFR. I don’t want to hear they’re worse than Hynix just because they aren’t showing up online yet.

I’ll be checking several things over an extended time, not wanting them to spread out too much. Thanks for the idea—I’ll likely create a structured list later, though I’m not sure what I’ll have right now.

the monitor seemed to stop working during my absence, maybe I'll replace it soon.
