it's hard to locate satisfactory feedback on top-tier air coolers like the Scythe Fuma compared to budget single-fan AIOs and mid-to-high-end water coolers.

I would prefer air cooling as it offers no risk of leaks or pump failure. If the pump fails, your PC would be completely unusable. You might not get the exact model, but the performance gap would remain similar.

'Top-end' and 'AIO' aren't usually linked together. These coolers aren't generally part of that range.

a good air cooler keeps the CPU at the same or better temperature than any 240 and some 280 AiOs, while producing significantly less noise.
most AiOs are produced by the same manufacturer—asetek (https://www.asetek.com/desktop/do-it-yourself/).
the main variation lies in the fans; the rest is about aesthetics, with companies of four letters often creating perfect Christmas tree toys.

There is no likelihood I will ever purchase another AIO cooler, and if I were to choose an air cooler, this would be the one.

I own roughly a dozen AIOs in my home office, each stored in its own box.

The case must be spacious enough to fit the central-mounted fan, ensuring a sink or fan height of 168 mm is supported. The second Noctua fan can also be used for the case intake when needed.
