I think the problem lies with the power supply unit, it's been four years since the NeoEco Gold model was built. The issues started when I powered down the PC at the socket for cleaning. Only then did similar problems emerge. There were no visual glitches beforehand, but there was instability during normal tasks—random crashes and restarts. Recently, while playing Starfield, my PC froze completely during a water break. I tried reseating the GPU, adjusting cables, re-seating the CPU, updating RAM, and resetting BIOS, except for the monitor turning on and fans spinning. My girlfriend's PC had similar behavior when her PSU failed, with fans spinning but no shutdown. My GPU is a refurbished one from last year and my CPU is eight months old. Last week I ran stress tests with FurMark and CineBench, everything was fine. What do you think?
You're dealing with a possible issue where the motherboard isn't working properly—either a hardware fault or a boot problem. Try connecting a basic audio device and see if it works; if it does, check your manual for error codes to identify the faulty part.
Lights come up and everything activates, but only the monitor lights up and displays "no connection." It boots normally but doesn't show any visuals beyond the screen. Given the cost of an AM4 board, it might be more practical to check the PSU or motherboard connector first.
I’d prefer motherboards around £80-120 for an AM4 board versus a PSU costing about £40 for a decent but not top-tier unit. I’m not worried about the motherboard because everything seems fine on the board, but it’s not delivering power properly—so I think the PSU might have failed or isn’t providing enough voltage. I’d rather install a PSU than replace everything again and switch mobos. If the issue isn’t the PSU, then the motherboard is next on my priority list once I can afford a new one.
When I bought this PSU four years ago, the casing was damaged during shipping, but I fixed it myself and it’s been working well ever since.
I just found this discussion and the same problem has been happening for months. I figured it must be a power supply or connection issue. Thanks a lot! I’m sure I should replace it before it damages my system, lol. Edit: Also, I realized I’m using the exact PSU mentioned in the original post. I won’t buy that brand again.
