We performed a BIOS update, reinstalled graphics drivers, and adjusted certain settings on BF2042 – it functioned properly! Three weeks later, again for no apparent reason* – BF2042 is running smoothly now, and Hell Divers 2 is also operating at 10-15 FPS!? I captured a screenshot of the NVIDIA app during BF2042 playback; it appears the machine isn’t utilizing the CPU or GPU effectively. When I switched to Windowed mode and monitored performance, the maximum utilization remained at 20% (my expectations weren’t clear). I even attempted automatic tuning, but results stayed unchanged. Games such as CS2 and KCD appear to run well, with KCD being more demanding than these titles. Previous actions included BIOS update, driver refreshes via CC cleaner, clearing random apps and drivers. Disabling DLSS and Dynamic resolution helped. Today I removed BF2042 entirely and EA also didn’t seem to alter the outcome. I tried launching it as an administrator (it worked for one run!). Now I’m uncertain, especially when lowering resolution to 600x800 in low settings – the highest FPS drops to 25.
They proposed another idea previously. I plan to test it; when I open the screen it warns me about the massive deletion—*even after I confirm keeping all files, there will be 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 files removed (everything)*.
