Some titles become 'slow and difficult to play' once you upgrade
Hi, I've been struggling with Persona 5 Royal. It's running sluggish from the start, even though the intro works and there are no audio problems. I've lowered the settings to try and improve things, but it's still not smooth. I've only played other Persona 5 titles before on a high-end system (1660 Super) and everything is up to date. My PC specs are: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X, 2x 8GB RAM (15GB left), 64-bit OS, NVIDIA RTX 3660. I'm open to any advice or help!
Which motherboard are you using? Updating the BIOS might be necessary if you haven’t interacted with it before. BIOS updates can resolve compatibility problems affecting performance.
It seems safe to say this shouldn’t be causing issues, though I’ve experienced driver problems before. I’ve looked at the performance section in Task Manager while playing, and it’s running slow. Is the GPU operating at full capacity yet still lagging? What CPU and memory usage are present during the slowdown?
the initial picture shows the game starting with a large cutscene and music, the next is the loading screen followed by the main game. when launching Genshin Impact and Overwatch at full settings, the CPU usage is around 13% and the GPU is between 60 to 75%.
Did you verify your PCIe configuration in the BIOS settings to ensure it's operating at 16X speed?
Absolutely, great to know everything is running smoothly. Thanks!
