I attempted to start Witcher 3 today but got asked to reinstall it. Verified my library and confirmed the game files are present in the Steam common folder. Anyone have tips on resolving this without re-downloading the entire install? I’m not keen on that. Also, this issue occurred with GTA 5.

Occasionally this occurs; ensure during reinstallation the game is placed in the same directory or partition where it was previously saved. Steam would then correctly identify the installation and avoid re-adding the game to the list.
