Some Ryzen combo suggestions and possible concerns
Hey everyone. I'm considering a system upgrade with a new CPU, motherboard, and RAM configuration. I've been researching various options and reading about common problems users face with different products. My current setup is a safe but costly one: an R7 3700X with an x570 Auros Elite and a Ryzen-optimized Vengeance 16 GB RAM at 3200MHz. The alternative I'm thinking of is an R5 3600 with a B450 Tomahawk MAX and the same Ryzen-optimized Vengeance 16 GB RAM at 3200MHz. I'm concerned about whether the board can handle the higher RAM speed and whether I have the necessary tools to update the motherboard. I suspect the store won<|pad|>'s plans to update firmware, but I can reach out today for more info. Thanks and have a great holiday season! Edited December 25, 2019 by mememaster69 Typo
According to what I understand, the board already received the update. All Max boards should have it.
This configuration works well. Tomahawk max supports Ryzen 3rd gen right out of the box. Additionally, newer Ryzen models offer faster RAM speeds compared to older versions (though there are some compatibility issues).
It seems the Tomahawk board is currently unavailable. Check these three options in-store: https://www.netonnet.se/Search?query=450...=122242252
The gigabyte offers the best performance among the options. It functions smoothly with the R5 3600 and possibly up to 3700, though it may not run well if you upgrade to a 3900.
Full speed will function properly. I’m not sure about the BIOS. If the original components are still in good condition, it should work. With outdated cards, it could also be possible.
