I made Windows 10 (pro 64 bit) installation this evening and am facing some minor problems. I’m not sure if anyone has solutions for these. 1) On Windows 8.1 the sound icon at the bottom right had a mixer, letting me tweak volume per program. Now there’s just one volume control for everything. How can I restore that? 2) Many windows—especially explorer windows—don’t launch in full-screen. It’s frustrating, and I’d like everything to open fully. Is there a way to enable that? 3) I created quick launch icons because I find pinning them to the taskbar too restrictive. But sometimes Windows adds its own folders. Can I prevent that? I’ll keep you updated with more questions. Thanks!

Verify this: 2) Navigate to Explorer, increase its size, then close and reopen it. It should appear fully expanded. 3) What’s the issue?

1) Appreciated feedback
2) Resets upon restart, but I discovered a method to resolve it for each shortcut setting
3) Fast start function was typical in XP, though less obvious in recent Windows releases

Launch quick mode is mostly disappearing because of Windows 7's limits on pinning apps to the taskbar and folders in File Explorer's pinned list, plus projects inside programs. You can still pin items to the start menu.

Absolutely, keeping tasks distinct makes sense. Having all active and inactive apps in separate areas would improve your workflow.
