About a week prior, I was preparing for work, switched on my laptop and PC, and then took the kids to school. Upon returning home, I observed that the fans were spinning but there was no fan noise on my monitor. I powered off the PC and restarted it, which produced the 1 long and 3 short beeps. After reinserting the RAM, the issue persisted, so I carefully replaced each DIMM one by one. The problem continued, prompting me to check the GPU. I found a sticky, white liquid on it—definitely not a joke. I shared this with the manufacturer (Zotac) online and spoke with them; they confirmed it was a blown capacitor. They offered an RMA since the device was only 14 months old. Fortunately, I had an old HD7770 in the attic, so I used that to continue. Today, I repeated the process: turned on my PC, took the kids to school, and when I got home, the same issue occurred. I reconfigured everything and again encountered the white liquid on the GPU. Now my PC won’t power on at all. I’m wondering if the PSU is failing and caused the failure, or what others think. MOBO: ASUS PRIME A320M-K GPU: Zotac 1660 GTX 6GB CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 RAM:8 GB Corsair 2400mhz OS: Windows 10 Storage: x2 256gb SSD, 1 500GB HDD & 1TB HDD Power supply: CORSAIR CV SERIES 450W 80+ BRONZE. I’ve attached some photos of the GPUs (the 7770 looks a bit dusty). Any advice?

Above the GPU is a top-mounted AIO.

Opt for a typical heat sink along with a fan.

It seems something leaked onto the GPU and might have passed through it. Look into it. Also, make sure to wipe down everything.

Reviewing the 7770 images suggests the liquid is originating from the GPU board rather than above it. I’ll double-check in either direction for accuracy. Additionally, the liquid isn’t positioned right beneath the cooler.

so nothing came from the top? doubt it's from the CPU cooler, it would not have that much liquid over such a period. Also looks kind of sticky, like its some kind of nasty gunk in the air or drops getting on the board. Also they thought it was a cap too? but yeah a little weird.

To me, it looks like too much liquid to be from a tiny small component. Do you have a pet laying (warming) on the top of the PC case? Imagine the case having holes at the top, a cat laying on top of the case and drooling...

The case is positioned under the desk beside a wall, allowing about 1-2 inches for air circulation. The top of the case is too close to the desk for a cat to sit on it comfortably. The desk is pushed against the wall, preventing any liquid from reaching the PC. The top features magnetic dust mats, and everything remains fully clean and organized. The liquid on the board is located at the front of the GPU near the I/O area, resting under a sealed section of the case with no openings. The only nearby component is the rear fan, which is also completely clean.
