GIMP offers a very poor user experience. If you're still in school, you might want to look for free or heavily discounted Photoshop versions.

I finally received the tablet and started using GIMP. It's nice that it's free, especially since I've used it before, but it doesn't have many drawing tools. This makes it a bit challenging to create on it. I'm not saying I can't do it, just that it's a bit tougher.
