Some platforms don't work properly on computers and mobile devices
Hello. I recently relocated to a new apartment with a spectrum internet service and have been experiencing issues about two weeks ago. Websites open unexpectedly, but both my PC and phone struggle with the Wi-Fi connection. When using only my phone's native internet, everything works fine. A VPN resolves the problem on my PC, though it also has connection difficulties—requests aren't sent properly and login is hard. The traceroute shows the last hop in the chain. Since I can't access the router directly, I'm only able to connect via the admin panel. How can I resolve this without risking changes to the router settings? I'm considering a factory reset but am unsure about its impact.
Visit go to speedtest.net and test your connection using your Wi-Fi.
Consider the issue may stem from the ISP's DNS server. Access the router's web interface and update the DNS settings to your choice, like 1.1.1.1 (Cloudflare), 8.8.8.8 (Google), 208.67.222.222 or 208.67.220.220 (OpenDNS/Cisco).
Yes, the dropdown includes a static option. You can manually input all details and check if the configuration is saved.
Yes, this method preserved the data but didn’t alter anything. It’s possible the issue wasn’t there or I’m uncertain.
