Some keys fail to function except during gameplay?
Has anyone experienced just a few keys stopping working only when you're in a game? Alt-tabbing fixes it temporarily, but it happens again later. I haven't tried avoiding an open browser, but I'm curious how it would behave without one. It works fine when the game isn't running.
It seems the question is a bit unclear, but generally, if your keyboard lacks n-key rollover, the problem may appear. Malware on your system could also cause this issue, as could games with hidden elements. Could you share the brand and model of your keyboard and which games are affected? A typical laptop might not be designed for gaming, so it could be a relevant factor.
I wasn't sure how to phrase it clearly, which might explain why I only found a few topics online. Recently, when playing cod with a browser open—usually while listening to music in opera browser, but other browsers also caused the problem—I noticed certain keys stopped typing like H, V, T and backspace sometimes appeared in the browser search window and game chat. It would auto-delete the input in the search bar after just two letters. If I pressed Shift, a capital letter such as C will work, but not lowercase letters.
When I minimized the browser, everything seemed to fix itself until I had to do it again. I can type normally in the browser or in programs during the day if cod isn't running. My system specs are: Windows 11 Pro 64, Ryzen 5800X3D, Asus ROG Strix B550 Gaming Wi-Fi, Msi 4070ti Super, 32 GB RAM, 3600 GB SSD, Thermaltake GFX 850 Gold, Nzxt H7 Flow Case. My keyboard is a SteelSeries Pro TKL (wired only) with updated firmware and drivers. My mouse is Logitech Pro Superlight. I use Asus TUF Gaming monitors at 1440p for 144 hours. Windows is fully updated. I run cod through Battle.net.
Sorry if this is still unclear. Just sharing my specs in case you need them. Now that I reflect, this issue really began after I upgraded to Windows 11 Pro and had to reset the system because of a lock screen problem. The link between the C drive and games drive was lost, so I had to ask Battlenet to move the games. Could this be the cause? How would I fix it?
