I was playing a game with my CPU when some bright lights showed up on the screen. Then I closed the software and saved all my settings. Now those lights are gone again. What happened? I thought undervolting was always safe. This is happening on an Acer AN515-55 with an RTX 3050, i5 processor, and a 10300H base model.
Overclocking or undervolting is okay if you know your stuff. If you don't, things can get unstable. Probably, you went too deep on the undervolt and hit a wall. Try bumping the voltage up just a little bit to what was there before and see if the problem still happens. Remember, undervolting only applies to the CPU (the core and the cache) and the graphics card. If you feel comfortable with how much power your current setup uses, then move on to the discrete GPU. You will have to stress test this adjustment just like you do for overclocking, because there isn't one single perfect number that works in software.
