Some games cause my PC to crash following a CPU upgrade.
I switched from a Ryzen 5 1600 to a Ryzen 5600X last week after changing the motherboard. Some games crash when I try to launch them, causing the PC to restart. Games that run smoothly are Rainbow Six Siege (PlayStation), Cyberpunk (GOG), Escape from Tarkov (EFT Launcher), Shadow of War (Steam), Dying Light (Steam), and Watch Dogs 2 (PlayStation). Ghost Recon Wildlands (PlayStation) also works without issues. I’ve stressed the PC to confirm it’s not a power supply problem. After running Cinebench, everything is stable—no crashes, drivers fully updated, and no other problems during long usage days. Anyone know what might be causing this? A fresh Windows install or reinstalling programs like IDEs could help, but I’m stuck between exams and can’t afford downtime. Any suggestions?
If you didn't perform a new setup, that might be a possible concern. However, I checked the RAM configuration—Crucial Ballistix works best for Ryzen, especially the CL16 models, using DDR4-3200. There appears to be a recent pairing issue between Ryzen and Corsair RAM. It's unclear why this is happening, but many users with similar setups are also using Corsair components.
the remaining system consists of my old G.skill Aegis 16gb with 3200mhz ram and a 2060 super. i'm using dual channel with xmp settings, but only a few titles crash. i can't spot any patterns or similarities between them, which makes it hard to determine why they fail. i'm trying to avoid reinstalling windows for now.
