I have a Lexar E6 enclosure with a Patriot Viper VP4300 inside. When I ran tests on my PC and laptop using crystaldiskmark, the speed was only 480 MB/s per second. On another laptop, it reached around 1000 MB/s. I checked all USB ports—USB 3.2 Gen 2—and used the same cable each time. I updated the drivers via Lexar's site, but it didn<|pad|> (no improvement). The SSD outside the case reached 3500 MB/s. I’m unsure if the ports are actually using USB 3.X, but I’ve used both labeled SS and standard USB 3.2 ports. On the working PC, I tested all USB A and type-C back panels, plus front panel ports on the case. On the non-working laptop, I tried every port, including type-C. On the working laptop, I used only the available type-C port. Please help.
Uncertain about which device you're using, but it seems 3.2 Gen 2 or 10Gbps USB isn't referenced. The specs on the link cover multiple laptop models, and the screenshot shows clear details. If your machine matches those models, both should function properly.
It turns out I was completely confused. I didn't notice the distinction between 3.2 and 3.2 gen 2. Also, I missed that the USB speed standard is measured in bits, not bytes. That cleared things up! Thanks!
