You might divide a portion of your external HDD (just a tiny bit) and turn it into a bootable USB using AOMEI’s built-in utility. The remaining HDD can then be used for backups. This approach lets you recover your system if the PC fails to boot normally, restoring everything from the external drive.

The system image backup completed without issues, but I haven’t tested a particular folder backup yet. Could you confirm whether the backups use AES 128-bit encryption?
