Hey, I just had an issue unplugging my SSD while the computer was running. After reconnecting it, the PC kept showing a critical process error. I've tried several fixes—starting in safe mode, using sfc/scannow, resetting the PC, and even the start-up repair—but none worked. I'm still learning about PCs, so your advice would be really helpful! Thanks for the tips, and I'm glad the fix worked after reinstalling Windows.

It doesn’t sound right... Did you power it back in when the machine was running?

I meant resetting the BIOS/CSM. If not, I can attempt that. Updated February 3, 2020 by Bartholomew. Clarified to focus on BIOS.

I resolved the problem. Restarted Windows and everything is functioning properly. Appreciate the feedback and remember to avoid disconnecting parts while the computer is running!
