You just received a brand new ASUS Vivobook M570DD-DS55 laptop. After setting up Pop OS or another Linux distribution, everything functions properly at startup. However, once you power off the machine, it tends to restart to that default screen.

Yes, I'm familiar with terminal commands. What would you like to know or do?

You likely don't require installing the driver unless @sp331yi has specific knowledge about this issue, which is recognized as a known problem with newer drivers. In that scenario, simply execute: cd Downloads chmod +x NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-375.20.run ./NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-375.20.run This would also apply to non-popular distributions.

Yes, I understand how to boot Pop-OS in Nomodeset. You can enter the appropriate command or configuration to start it.

Adjusting the boot settings on your system is straightforward. After rebooting, you’ll see a prompt like “Pop_OS!” which you can modify by editing the text at the bottom of the screen.

Consider where your screen appears and try relocating it for better access. Alternatively, use a different approach to open your laptop terminal.

The ASUS logo appears followed by a brief black display. Then the screen shifts to a light grey-black tone before displaying a rainbow pattern.
