There aren't many top-notch editing tools available at no cost, but if you're just beginning, Sony Vegas Movie Studio is a solid option. It offers a simpler experience compared to the more feature-rich versions, and while it isn't completely free, it's reasonably affordable.

The Sony film studio offers a great opportunity and seems very promising.

Yes, you can transfer the CyberLink editor from your laptop to your desktop using a USB drive.

I would just get the trial of a good program, like Avid Media Composer, it lasts 30 days. If you like it you can get a student trial subscription as long as you have a .edu email address, and it's only $10 a month. This is also true for other editing programs like Adobe Premiere Pro, I think Sony Vegas as well. For only $30 you can get the best for 3 months, I think that's an incredible deal.

I might consider trying it, though I don’t enjoy paying for subscriptions. I don’t feel the need to commit to a paid service, but it would be great if it were available. I’d probably set up an Ubuntu VM and use one of the free Linux options instead.

They were always available through alternative methods at no cost, though the decision was yours.
