Software for recording AMD audio and video output.
It doesn't trigger stuttering or frame drops. Shadowplay works well, but I'm curious about the competition.
Shadowplay stands out compared to AMD DVR. The audio tends to sync better, and the video quality is superior there. My personal struggle with AMD DVR has been significant. I'm hoping AMD will eventually develop a recording program matching Shadowplay’s performance.
Never purchased my GPU, GTX 980 costs significantly more than 390x.
Honestly, if you're considering purchasing the GTX 980, opt for the GTX 970 instead. It's more affordable and delivers similar performance to the 980. If you're ready to invest a bit more, the GTX 980 TI is an option. Don't let the price tag delay your decision—its capabilities are only marginally better than the 970, but the extra $130 isn't justified. In my view, choosing either the 970 or the 980TI would be smarter.
OBS offers greater openness and customization options, allowing you to employ the same codec Shadowplay utilizes in OBS, which provides comparable performance advantages. Regarding alternatives, there exists an unofficial OBS variant that integrates AMD's VCE, functioning similarly to NVENC—this version works well for me: https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/obs...ort.13996/
