There are no significant drawbacks to using the media creation tool during Windows downloads. Selecting Windows 10 Home should work smoothly, and purchasing a license might offer more reliability.

Purchasing Windows OEM grants you a DVD containing the creation tool, while Windows Retail provides it on a USB flash drive. Both methods cost the same license fee; the physical media or installer isn’t the main difference. You pay for the license with either version, whether you receive the official key from Microsoft or one from a reseller.

strongly suggest choosing pro over home... but all media creation tools are best suited when you already have a system with 10 or a license. Installing Windows would make it unregistered otherwise.

I've used it before, so registration status doesn't affect it. The activation watermark isn't visible on the screen.
