Hey! For your first 3D project, I recommend starting with software like Blender or Tinkercad. They’re user-friendly and great for creating detailed models with nice finishes. If you want higher quality, you can export to STL or OBJ formats and use a slicer like Cura for printing. Just make sure to adjust settings for your printer to get those nice details on the chain. Happy printing!

I work with 3DS Max for my 3D projects, though I’m not entirely confident it’s suitable for creating a model. It’s usually a $3,000 program, but you can get a student license valid for three years. The quality of the model really depends on how much time and effort you invest in it.

I created a tank using 3ds max for my history project. It wasn’t too tough, maybe I’ll stick with it. Some suggested google sketch, but the results were low quality. Another choice is CAD, though it would be quite challenging.

The results are decent. You'll likely get similar numbers of triangles, and the 3D printing won't be very precise. Unless you're using a powder or resin printer.

If you're familiar with 3DS Max, I'd consider giving it a try.

Also, I’m okay with creating the model myself—am I confident the forum will assist me or help me achieve what I want? Since I don’t have a 3D printer, where can I find someone who can print it for me and share it with my location? (No local stores available.)

Looking for alternatives since most 3D printers have limited print beds. I'm trying to figure out how to work around that. Planning to purchase a printer but holding off until costs decrease further.

I’d probably start by searching online for a service that offers 3D printing and file delivery.

I’ll look for a company that can produce it and deliver it to you. For the file, I’m beginning now—does it matter whether it’s the trial version?
