Avoid setting up Windows XP due to security risks. Would you like suggestions for Chrome OS or a Linux Mint alternative?

I understand you're looking for a lighter window option suitable for your laptop running Windows 7, which is quite slow.

You likely need to install special disk controller drivers so the disks appear during setup. Visit your laptop’s support and driver download page for a suitable driver, such as an SATA "F6" driver or a setup utility. Load it onto an optical disc and insert the disk after pressing F6 when the setup prompt appears.

These are the components I talked about earlier. They're built to be extremely lightweight, much lighter than regular windows.

Check the BIOS settings to view the drive information. If it shows normal data, the drive is functioning properly.

Use nLite to optimize your hard drive controller drivers. The F6 feature requires a floppy drive, which you currently lack.

driverpacks for Windows XP are available for download without needing nlite or similar tools. Searching online will lead you to the official source, providing access to drivers released between 2001 and 2014.

Thanks to LukeLinusFanFic, he recommended Linux Mint and it performs better than Windows 7.
