Yesterday I woke up and went to my computer (Usaly left it on). But the morning after the power was off, I turned it back on. The screen showed an update message saying Windows 10 had been updated and several changes made. The update removed my desktop wallpaper, turned off Nvidia Surround, reset all Nvidia settings to defaults, cleared my sound and network preferences, reset power options, and deleted my homegroup and network media server setup. I’m not sure what exactly they did or why it caused such issues.

The update felt similar to Windows 10.1, needing modifications to many essential system files. You’ll likely notice changes like the right-click context menu and task bar adjustments. It’s no surprise it reset some system settings.

It's frustrating when everything gets reset, especially since all my game profiles in the Nvidia control panel disappeared. I had to reconfigure them from scratch.

That’s why you disable automatic updates and pick what you want installed. Also, turn off that annoying auto-timer that alerts when updates are downloaded. You should also avoid MS Windows because they’re not trustworthy and try to protect your personal info. If you still have Windows 10, at least disable those tracking features. But honestly, I think Windows 7 should have had a restore point somewhere. Search for it online.

Honestly, I can't ignore what people see every day. Life keeps moving forward, and we can't change that. The government already has all this information; companies like Google have it, and so do others. It's time to embrace the 21st century—we can choose how we react, but it's not going away anytime soon.

Actually, I don’t live in Europe and I use some privacy tools to protect myself. I find it confusing why so many people ignore these issues. It’s the same reason some don’t share their personal info openly. It seems like everyone should have a separate account or use different search engines. Google has this info, but it’s your responsibility to create a separate profile or use privacy-focused browsers. It’s strange how they track what you watch online—did you agree to that? Yeah, you’ve accepted their terms. It’s frustrating, but it’s serious. If someone was always watching and recording your activities, even if you don’t think you need to hide anything, it would be concerning. We’re heading toward this situation. Imagine if someone was constantly monitoring you while you were alone—even if it feels odd, it’s unsettling enough to warrant attention.

I understand you completely, but it’s hard to ignore how often this happens. I’ve stopped worrying so much and just try to adapt. I make sure my privacy options are fully disabled, even though changing them in the control panel doesn’t really stop it from happening.

there are more effective methods than disabling controls in the control panel. you don’t need to worry—just keep it in mind and adjust accordingly
