So... I messed up.
So... I messed up.
A few weeks back I created a new machine using 8.1 Pro from G2A. I just realized my last name was misspelled, and it now appears during login and on the start screen. I’m aware it’s a mistake, but I think I got too caught up in excitement. Can I update my name on the account? Thanks ahead of time. I’m a bit embarrassed about that error.
User name only? Or are you referring to the PC name? If it's the PC name...you'll need to reinstall.
I don't have access to that information. Would you like to provide more details about your account type?
You meant to restart or reset the system, but ended up changing its name to ALPHA800 by mistake. Now your PC is running smoothly as ALPHA800!
False, a PC name can be updated by navigating to the control panel, then System and Security, System, clicking Change settings beside the window, and selecting the option under Computer name, domain, and workgroup settings. After that, click Change and enter the new name in the box. A restart will be prompted, and once completed, the name will be updated.
Sure, I'll help with that. Let me know if you need anything else!
Open control panel -> User accounts -> User Accounts -> Manage user accounts -> select your account, then click properties. There you can update the details.
