this game really pushes my hardware when I set super-sampling to 4. it slows down a lot. should i add another GPU? anyone else facing the same problem? my screen is 2560x1440p, intel core i7-3930k, 4.1ghz, 16gb ram, msi gtx 780 ti. memory usage hits 2800gpu at 99% load.

You notice the stats clearly. Your GPU is pushing its limits. Regarding the vRAM, it seems like a small cache. If you're willing to invest and really need more frames per second, then adding another 780ti would be a good move.

Super sampling is the most powerful post-processing method in AA. Turn it off.

The game utilizes AMD technology; some have experimented with 4x super-sampling on an AMD R9 290X.

Turn it off for higher FPS, especially if the game is tough.

I thought 780Ti would handle the game smoothly at 1440p, while my 660SLI configuration works perfectly at 1080p with a lot of AA settings applied in the control panel—though I really dislike those jaggies.

Ssaa is extremely demanding, reduce performance significantly > aa

With double sampling at 2x and most settings at full capacity, my 270 (after optimization) stays around 50 in the 1080p range.

4x oversampling sounds a bit excessive for a 1440p screen, right? Lowering it to 2x would work better.

Super sampling essentially means increasing the resolution and reducing it to match your screen's settings. Don't enable it unless you're using a straightforward approach.
