It seems the motherboard would probably be completely damaged if it were already burning.
We don't get notifications when you edit the start of the thread, nor do we always check the whole thread again. If this happened already five months ago and you kept using the same power supply, then my best guess is to replace the powersupply. With a lot of luck nothing else is fried, though we can't guarantee that. Also, make sure you are in a well ventilated area and nothing that could catch fire is around the PC (you got a fire extinguisher?). No need to start a house fire over this. BEFORE you do so, however, make sure to disconnect as much as possible. disconnect all of the drives (it should post without a drive anyway), all but one RAM stick, most of the fans and also those powersupply extensions. Basically, the absolute minimum to see if that works. If something shorted or the PSU crapped out, it might have caused more damage that might fry more hardware if it is now connected to a new PSU. Again, if in doubt bring it to a professional repair shop.
I think that's an english speaking forum. Anyway, @KatzenKate .... ciao
To confirm it's not the motherboard, check if you've unplugged the HDDs and case fans.
When problems arise, it helps to strip away any add-ons like extensions or RGB strips. These elements introduce extra variables, particularly the potentially unreliable RGB strips that may also cause electrical concerns.
It’s unlikely you can push the 5600X beyond safe limits and cause sparks. The problem might lie with the power supply unit or faulty motherboard components. Try isolating each part by testing them on another functional machine to find the culprit. If everything checks out, the issue probably lies with the motherboard itself.
