Smart devices for managing network connections at home.
Looking for routers that support custom DHCP pools and private VLANs? I need devices that let me create separate networks for guests or personal use, each with its own IP range. This would help isolate their connections while keeping the main network functional. Any recommendations?
Certainly confirmed, this should work. I just wanted to check if they also offer WAP versions or if it has to be bought separately. If you're purchasing their official gear, let me know!
pfSense is merely a firewall application that operates on router or PC devices. The hardware remains essential for the access point. Even if you possess an old, unused computer, you can attempt to install pfSense on it. For a budget-friendly ready-to-use configuration, the Ubiquiti EdgeRouter-X is also worth evaluating. You’ll still need to connect your own APs, but each LAN port can support its own network with its dedicated DHCP server.
PFsense offers devices branded as NetGate, which aligns with what I'm evaluating. Appreciate the recommendation regarding Ubiquiti as well!
