I was cleaning my computer recently and spotted two scratches on the back of the motherboard near the standoff holes. I suspect these might have formed while placing it in my case, but I’m worried about the risk of a short circuit and possible damage to connected components. It’s currently running smoothly, and so far I haven’t noticed any issues with the traces. I’m unsure if this is safe.

To ensure stability, consider inserting plastic washers between the standoffs and the MoBo.

It doesn't seem too bad. I wouldn't have a screw there and stop worrying about it.

You're asking if it's safe to use 8 or 9 standoffs for a mobile operation.

Absolutely, that's correct. 8/9 works just fine... You don't seem to be stressing your system too much. The motherboard looks solid enough to function with just two screws—one on the top left and one on the bottom right.
