For a while now, my desktop connected via Ethernet straight to the router has experienced sluggish internet. Most sites load slowly, YouTube videos often buffer, and some services like Netflix fail to start. Despite getting 150 Mbps download speeds, my upload stays around 5 Mbps or less, usually under 1 Mbps. The oddity is that using a VPN improves performance significantly—around 80 Mbps—while direct connections remain poor. I’ve reset both my router and ONT, cleared DNS entries, tried switching to Google’s DNS on the router, but nothing changed. I own a Fios g1100 router. Any suggestions?

Have you explored another router? If you've already set it back to factory settings, it may not be working correctly.

I don't have a specific router model or Verizon device details. Could you clarify what you're asking about?
