Hey there, I usually don’t share this kind of situation. Over the last few days my desktop has been struggling with significant 5G connectivity problems. I’m using an Asus ac56r wireless card paired with a Gigabit router from my ISP. I’ve checked the router on all bands—both with my phone and a few other devices around the house—and everything seems to work smoothly, consistently reaching over 350 Mbps on 5G anywhere in the home. I even reached out to my ISP to confirm there were any issues on their side, but they didn’t find anything. I’ve restarted both the router and the adapter multiple times just to be sure. The distance between my PC and the router is about 12 feet, and the adapter has an antenna. I replaced it under MFW just to verify, but results were minimal. I’ve also reinstalled drivers several times and even tried a set of drivers not available on Asus’s site from a tech support rep who wasn’t very helpful. I reset the network a few times and changed the signal channel a couple of times for safety. My PC has been restarted after each change. Interestingly, the adapter I used 7 years ago still managed around 150 Mbps on 5G—only briefly hitting about 40 MBps before dropping back to roughly 700 kbps this afternoon. Any advice or help would be really appreciated. I’m really stuck here. Also, could you share my PC specs? (CPU i7 7700K stock with Corsair H115i AIO, motherboard Asus Apex IX, graphics Asus, RAM 16GB 3200 MHz, PSU Corsair RMX 750W, wireless adapter ASUS ac56r, SSD Samsung 860 EVO 1TB, plus a couple of Seagate drives.)

It's possible your Wi-Fi signals are grouped together. Try changing your router settings to a different channel—such as 3, 6, 9, or 12—to see if it improves speed.

The available choices via the default gateway for 5G are Auto, 36-40-44-48, and 149-153-157-161. I've tested each one several times.
