I own an older Asus laptop model X555L that is running slowly. I disassembled it yesterday to see if dirt or dust was the issue, cleaned the fan and related components, and reassembled it. I’ve also fixed a previous problem where the laptop struggled with certain tests. I’m unsure why it’s so slow now. I don’t have any background processes running except basic functions, and I’ve removed unused applications. I’d prefer an upgrade if necessary rather than replacing the whole machine, as this one is only needed for work tasks like sending documents and emails.
