slow performance issue in a system
Hey everyone, I'm facing some problems with my system. Gaming runs fine, but normal use feels like it's stuck from 2012. The Windows OS is slow, settings load slowly or fail completely, and the system freezes when opening multiple tabs—sometimes taking over an hour just to play a YouTube video. While browsing other areas, things like files, the Windows Store, and the taskbar behave oddly, requiring several minutes for clicks. I ran Memtest on RAM, SFC/scannow, DISM, and checked the disk; all came back clean. Temperatures during gaming stay around 83°C without throttling. My laptop is a Lenovo with a Ryzen 7 7840HS, 16GB DDR5 5600MHz, 2TB NVMe SSD (Samsung OEM), and an RTX 4060 with 8GB GDDR6. PSU is 230W. I’m using Windows 11 24H2 and plan to reinstall, hoping files are intact. I noticed RAM usage jumps to 71-69% when four tabs open—Firefox uses ~1.6GB, Signal RGB ~622MB, leaving only ~69% free. I’m unsure what’s causing this behavior and was thinking about upgrading to 32GB RAM if the new install helps. Also, considering a RAM upgrade to 32GB at RipJaws at Casio 40-40-40 with 5600MHz if needed.
