Slow internent Speed
Slow internent Speed
I recently purchased a new TP-Link Archer C20 Wireless Dual Band Router, but after setup the performance on both Wi-Fi and Ethernet is quite poor. I followed the setup guide carefully, configuring it in router mode, yet it caps at 8Mbps. When connecting my PC directly via the same cable as the router to the modem, the speed drops to a minimum of 60Mbps. I've tried restarting both devices, resetting the router, and updating the firmware from the link you provided, but nothing changed. I'm unsure what to do next and would appreciate your assistance.
What are you using for speedtesting? If speedtest.net, are you using the same server each time? And to be clear, a quite popular thing is to get units confused - Are we talking MB/s (megabytes per second) or Mb/s aka Mbps (megabits per second) here? That's an 8 times difference.
I also check speedtest.net
I don’t rely on the same connection every time
I meant Mbps
Always search for vulnerabilities. Affordable routers may have 100 Mbps Ethernet connections (limited to around 11-12 MB/s), which could account for the issue... The router won't achieve advertised Wi-Fi speeds if it's connected through such a slow Ethernet port.
I’m considering the router might be faulty and planning to send it back. I’d like suggestions for a reliable and budget-friendly alternative.
