I have been experiencing some issues with my computer, from starting up to loading programs.
I've checked online and believe the problems might be related to the hard drive, cables, motherboard, or power supply unit.
What I've tried:
- Swapped the SATA cable using three different ones, but it didn't make a difference.
- Ran chkdsk and other disk checking tools, no errors detected.
- Tested the PSU on another CPU, and it worked perfectly.
- Didn't test the motherboard, but I suspect nothing is physically broken (checked capacitors and similar parts).
Apart from the slow performance, I've noticed some symptoms:
- In Task Manager, disk usage frequently spikes to 100% with inconsistent speeds (sometimes 1.8 MB/s, other times 3.8 MB/s or 8 MB/s), but it always reaches 100%.
- Occasional BSODs appear.
- Windows tends to check drivers during restarts or power-offs.
Possible causes could be related to the CPU specifications:
- Operating System: MS10 64-bit
- Processor: Intel® Core™ i5-3570 @ 3.40GHz, 3401 MHz, 4 cores, 4 logical processors
- RAM: 16 GB DDR3 (probably correct)
- Graphics: GTX 1060 6 GB
- Power Supply: 650W PSU
- Storage: 2TB HDD
These issues seem to affect performance and stability, especially during gameplay or heavy tasks.
I hope this helps clarify things.
Thank you in advance.

Is it really an HDD issue?

Are the CPU and GPU temperatures being checked? Also, is a malware scan required?

no malware, and it's the warmest part at 53-65°c when I'm playing.

Consider replacing the RAM or CPU, as they might no longer be applicable. Additionally, I notice you have limited cores, which restricts the system's ability to handle large amounts of data.
