Hello, I just improved my internet connection to the fastest available in my area. It's fiber-optic on the street, and after three days of issues, I upgraded it on September 3rd. Now I expect around 75 downloads and 20 uploads. My router is an Asus Ac5300, which I've owned for four years. Recently, I performed a full reset because I couldn't log in to the admin panel. The login page now shows 'https' instead of the usual site, but I can access it properly once. I restored my previous settings. On the LAN, full speeds are usually achieved, though the desktop speed drops slightly. With the Ac5300, I see 2.4GHz - 5.1GHz and 5.2GHz Wi-Fi, but the two 5GHz networks only reach full speed briefly before dropping. The wireless scheduler is turned off, which can impact performance, but it's already disabled. All drivers and firmware are up to date, and the system is in game mode. Why does the 2.4GHz network feel so slow and not reach full speeds? Some devices only work on 2.4GHz.

Understanding that 2.4Ghz will be significantly slower, but achieving 5 downloads and 1 upload isn't feasible, before I experienced 35 downloads and 10 uploads on a 2.4Ghz connection

It’s not only a delay. Many gadgets rely on the same frequency. Non-WIFI 2.4 GHz models can create interference, leading to slower performance. Plus, nearby WiFi networks can also disrupt the connection. It’s tough to pinpoint exactly what’s causing the problem.

A lot of testing and adjustments were made. Channel bandwidth was set to 20mhz. Control Channel was configured at 6 because it’s free and there are no other networks on that channel. DoS protection was turned off to reduce the workload. Early results show about 55 downloads and 20 uploads, and it seems like the performance will drop once more devices connect.
