I've never worked with a desktop that includes a Sleep Mode feature before. The last time I had one at home was when I was really young and Windows XP was still in use.

I think that's generally true. The main exceptions are third-party drivers, my Sound Blaster Z and USB card fail when I power down the system. However, if your only expansion is a GPU, you should be okay!
