I'm facing issues with my RTX 2080 and MSI Gaming X Trio when streaming Skyrim at 4K, getting between 40 and 50 FPS based on location. I also have an older 1060 with 10 FPS less. What are everyone thinking about this performance?

I'm preparing to upgrade my PC soon, so I've been comparing 2080s and 2080tis. From what I've learned, 40-50 frames per second at 4K isn't too low for a 2080. To get smoother performance, I believe a 2080ti is the standard choice.

I am playing Skyrim SE right now on my 3840 X 1600 ultra wide setup. I usually play at 4k but it is testing time.
Skyrim at its heart is a CPU game so your frame rate heavily depends on the IPC of your CPU. Adding mods makes it harder and harder to run.
To test use Skyrim Performance Monitor found at the Nexus.

The rendering engine uses one core:
On a quad core CPU you lose frame rate after 25% CPU usage.
On a 6 core you lose frame rate over 17% usage.
On an 8 core about 12% usage.
Skyrim is the reason I bought the i7 2600k just before it came out in 2011 and it is one of the reasons I use 5ghz CPUs today.

Oke, I did not know that Skyrim was a CPU intensive game, I expect to upgrade CPU somwhere this summer, after the launch of the AMD 3000 series. I will post again after I upgraded my system to let you know if it has improved.
