Hey there! If you're aiming to boost Skyrim's graphics with visual mods, the best version depends on your modding needs. With your Intel Core i7, GTX 1080 and 16GB RAM, you're well-equipped. Generally, newer versions like Skyrim 2021 or 2022 offer better mod support and performance enhancements compared to older releases. Check out the latest mods for those versions to get the most out of your hardware.

Check compatibility across all Skyrim mods, but Skyrim SE now includes the "Skyrim Script Extender" for 64-bit as part of the alpha release. It’s meant for developers to upgrade existing mods so they work with Skyrim SE. For now, stick to regular Skyrim until the update is fully implemented. The "Skyrim Script Extender" is a key tool for adding complex mods.
