Skryrim SE has presented me with several odd issues over the years. The most peculiar one involves frame drops inside my room when OBS isn’t active. That seems unusual, since I expect more rendering work to keep frame rates steady outdoors. My system specs are pretty solid: a 3900x, 2070 Super, X570 Taichi, 32GB NVMe SSD, and a 1TB Samsung Evo M.2. It should comfortably handle the game and other tasks. I remember streaming on Discord to friends and noticed frame drops only appeared when OBS was running. After some testing, I found that Skyrim performed well without OBS, but when OBS was on, it only worked properly in that environment. Recently, I upgraded my desk and installed a VESA mount, yet frame drops persisted even when using the secondary monitor. It’s not as severe without OBS, but it’s still noticeable. I’m not seeking a solution just yet—I’m more curious about what might be behind this strange behavior.
