Skype often blocks shutoff for around 80% of the time without clear reason. It's becoming increasingly frustrating after several years. I've switched Windows, performed clean installations, updated nearly every part of my PC, yet the issue persists. The file shown just a short while ago is what it used to be. Any suggestions?

If the program stops your system, look for a button labeled 'Shutdown anyway' or 'Force shutdown.' Alternatively, simply close Skype before shutting down. (If possible, I’m sure you can.) Unless the warning about preventing shutdown isn’t appearing and Skype is actually restarting you to Desktop, I can’t help because I don’t know that.

You can close Skype before stopping the system by right-clicking the taskbar icon, choosing quit Skype, then exiting. > I’ll also verify you’re using the latest version, since some older releases may cause problems on Windows 10.

I often overlook this task, so closing it automatically would be helpful. I’ll attempt to update Skype instead.

Is Skype automatically launching when your PC starts? You can turn it off during startup to prevent it from turning on.
