Size details and ideal operating temperatures for thermal pads from 1080 founders edition
Hello! I received a really nice 1080 Founders edition from a friend in good condition. The only issue is that the thermal pads inside are extremely dirty—there’s actual dirt and dust inside. It’s hard to determine their size. On the market, there are pictures of the 1080 Ti FE, so I’m wondering if the dimensions match. If not, could someone help me find out what sizes are required? Thanks!
If you have the pads, measure them and add a small amount for estimation. A 0.5mm works as a rough guide. You might also sanitize the card and reassemble it to check. Another option is using thermal putty: https://www.igorslab.de/en/the-ultimate-...marketing/

Regarding your questions about w/mk and thermal conductivity—6 on the scale might be reasonable, but it depends on the specific application. @MagePepsi Probably anything is better than the factory included ones. But i would spend a little extra on them. Iceberg . Gelid Extreme . Thermalright Odyssey price lowest to highest. The first one is the best value, but i don't know anything about them, prolly read some reviews. The second one is widely recomended as far as i know, and the third is a tiny bit more expensive but comparable at least in raw data. Mind you, better heat transfer on the memory modules may lead to slightly increased core temperatures. Whilst it isn't significant at all. Don't be surprised if you see it. Perhaps put some fresh paste on that chip too. @DoctorNick I am using AI for a while now. It's a little dumb still, but if you can fine tune your searches it works better than google. Like google used to be, i might say.

The 6 w/mk pads work well. Ensure the pack contains sufficient quantity to cover the entire needed area.
