Simulate 90's Internet?
Hello, your preset in Chrome's developer tools seems to be causing slow loading and strange image behavior. It’s unusual for modern sites to load smoothly while images appear as if they’re being drawn from scratch. This might be due to outdated rendering settings or network throttling affecting performance. You may want to adjust the throttling levels or test with a different preset to see if the issue persists.
Oh wow, I’ve been through that too... but here’s an attempt: https://github.com/theonion/comcastifyjs

Lol, Windows XP wasn't available in the 90s—it came out in 2001. You'd need Windows 98 SE, a Pentium 200mmx or Pentium II 350-800, and at least 32-64 MB of RAM. A really slow mechanical hard drive with minimal cache would be a big issue, even if you had a network connection over 1 megabit.
XP launched in 2001. For those aiming to recreate an older system before that, using Windows 98 SE would be ideal—it offers the best performance among the earlier versions. Surprisingly, I already have the necessary components to assemble such a setup, including the original noisy hard drives and everything else.
