This update unlocks numerous additional games for Linux Play. Following improvements with EAC in Wine, many testers are achieving smooth frame rates and positive outcomes across various titles such as Apex Legends, For Honor, Paladins, Cuisine royale, Halo MCC, Rust, and Dead By Daylight.

Given that a CodeWeavers contributor is managing it, it might just be a delay tactic to push the timeline forward. It was noted somewhere that EAC also offered experimental Proton support—developers need to request a special build for that. However, that request has also been largely ignored. In a source I follow, some EAC games have reportedly run in Wine, suggesting developers might have found ways around it. My impression is it's either not widely known or has certain restrictions making it less appealing. On another point...

I experience issues with memory when using Apex through Wine-EAC in Lutris. My memory usage spikes intensely and often causes the system to crash. Deleting all user processes can trigger a kernel panic.
