Simple router/firewall setup with little maintenance
Simple router/firewall setup with little maintenance
I've got a query from a friend about setting up a VPN for remote office NAS access. They want to keep their internal network secure while staying connected on the go. Since they lack technical skills, I need a router/firewall that handles VPNs automatically without constant updates. I should suggest something user-friendly and reliable.
Wouldn't it be better to configure a VPN instead? Something like an EdgeRouter would work.
All security systems need some oversight. Based on company size and budget, I suggest either: Sonicwall SOHO or TZ300 – both need hands-on adjustments and updates; Meraki MX64 offers cloud-based control with automatic updates and simple VPN setup, though it involves ongoing monthly or yearly maintenance fees
