However, I’d agree with most people that Corsair Vengence LPX remains the top choice, as it’s well-suited for ITX builds and pairs nicely with coolers such as the D15, delivering solid speed and low latency at a fair price. Running a 3950x at 2666mhz would be quite risky.

Where are you purchasing from? What is your budget? Are you seeking 8GB modules specifically? This amount of capacity per stick might seem limited compared to the availability of 16GB options. Increasing the fan height offers minimal cooling improvement, while the middle fan handles most of the workload.

The budget isn’t a big factor since this isn’t an urgent upgrade; I can save for it (currently 7700k with 32GB at 2133 MHz) and pay in installments if needed. You’re asking about why 8 GB sticks? Because you’re considering four 32MB sticks instead of two 16GB ones.

This cooler offers excellent RAM space, with cutouts on both sides of the heatsink. I’ve used large Corsair Vengeance and HyperX DDR3 modules without any issues. With just one fan, it manages to handle around 200-230W under load. For the R9-3950X model, you might want to watch out for uneven heat spreaders, which can cause poor contact between the cooler and the heatsink.
