Fixing the IBUYPOWER SlateMR 214i for a friend's child. Roblox works but other features don't. Possibly RAM or CPU/Motherboard problem. It's an 1100f with 8 GB RAM and an upgraded Nvidia GPU (not sure which one). Need troubleshooting tips if needed. Updated March 4, 2025 by valaar1450

This means the device or service isn’t functioning properly, showing signs like slow performance, unexpected behavior, or failure to respond. It could be laggy, glitchy, or unresponsive.

A mix of performance and occasional hiccups. Just a few crashes so far, but I missed the worst part.

Sure, let's clarify the points.
1. Did you mean 10GB?
2. What is your exact GPU model?
3. Have you considered increasing RAM to 16GB? Many games now require more than 8GB.

Sorry, I corrected the number to 11400f. I haven't upgraded the RAM yet, and I'm unsure which GPU he switched to—probably something not too advanced. I've replaced the RAM. Clearly, I just tried turning it on and off, then went back tonight after work. I only had a few minutes to check. For games, he seems to play low-intensity titles like Roblox. That appears to be the only thing working properly. Updated March 4, 2025 by valaar1450

I need a clearer picture of the issue. Could you explain what exactly feels problematic? For example, is it slow performance, freezing, or something else? Based on your description so far, it could be anything: overheating causing throttling because the cooler isn’t set up correctly, insufficient RAM, a faulty driver installation, or a conflict between existing monitoring software and the new card. If you can access the event viewer, using hwinfo to check temperatures and power usage would help. Also, opening Task Manager can reveal if CPU or memory usage is excessive.

I didn’t intend to trigger the solution, but I’ll definitely give it another shot tonight. I couldn’t access Task Manager or Event Viewer previously. I’m not even sure how he managed to launch Roblox when I stopped by before work—it just doesn’t seem to work while I was there.
