Has anyone confirmed whether AMD plans to launch the R9-4950X alongside other processors or if they’ll postpone it like the R9-3950X? I’m aiming for a top-tier build once components arrive, so having the R9-4950X would be ideal instead of the R9-4900X. Any helpful updates would be really appreciated.
We're not certain about this. It seems the 3950x faced delays because AMD wasn't able to meet their standards. That's likely why it was postponed. The other version might eventually come out, but we can't confirm it.
AMD isn't shifting to a brand-new fabrication stage this round, which means no major yield problems. Also, this cycle involves replacing the last generation 16-core design.
